Currier and Ives, 19th century - View on the Housatonic, 1867. Conn. #6443 Large folio hand colored lithograph by Charles Herbert Moore of Catskill, New York. 17 3/8 x 23 3/8 inches overall; 13.10 x 20.40 inches image size. Original condition, some time toning mostly in the margins from the original matte and age. There is a small break in the upper left margin where the print had been hinged, but does not extend into the image. Unmatted and unframed. A very attractive rural American landscape scene in the style of the Hudson River School and the only known work by Moore for Currier and Ives. Wider margins. Price: $1,450.00.
